How to Plan Your iRacing Season
iRacing Season 2 2026 features 148+ official series across road, oval, and dirt disciplines. Planning ahead saves money and ensures you can race every week. Here's how to do it right.
How iRacing seasons work
iRacing runs four 12-week seasons per year. At the start of each season, schedules are refreshed with different track rotations. Planning your purchases at the start of each season is the most cost-effective approach.
4 steps to plan your season
Follow this process at the start of every new iRacing season:
Choose your series
Browse the available series and pick 2-4 that match your license level and interests. Check the car requirements — you may already own a suitable car.
Check the track schedules
Review the 12-week schedule for each series. Identify which tracks you already own and which are free with your subscription.
Calculate what you need to buy
For each series, you need at least 8 of 12 tracks to qualify for season standings. Our planner finds tracks that overlap across multiple series to minimize purchases.
Buy in bulk for discounts
Combine all needed tracks and cars into one purchase to maximize volume discounts. 6+ items gets you 15% off, saving significantly compared to buying week by week.
When should you start planning?
New schedules are published about a week before each season starts. That's the ideal time to plan — you can see the full track rotation and buy everything in one optimized batch before Week 1.
